Scarborough Dismissive of Black Opinions

Joe Scarborough's commentary about the NY Times poll on race and the presidential candidates was insulting. He was dismissive of Black opinions because only 5% have a favorable opinion of McCain.

It is true that McCain's actions in the 60s, 70s, and 80s were admirable. I even have a high opinion of his record in the 90s, but he voted against a holiday for King, who is personally responsible for many of the freedoms we experience today. He voted against the new GI Bill which is the reason I am the third generation of African Americans to go to college in my family. He opposes policies with which 95% of Blacks agree. Of course, only 5% of us have a high opinion of McCain.

This is a substantive opposition to McCain that is based on content and not skin color. It is credible and should not be dismissed as racial.
